As more and more work, education and recreation involves computers, everyone needs to be aware of the hazard of Repetitive Strain Injury to the hands and arms resulting from the use of computer keyboards and mice.
This can be a serious and very painful condition that is far easier to prevent than to cure once contracted, and can occur even in young physically fit individuals. It is not uncommon for people to have to leave computer-dependent careers as a result, or even to be disabled and unable to perform tasks such as driving or dressing themselves.
We offer a variety of height-adjustable desks and posture correct chairs to reduce position stress and improve productivity.
Design Ideas & Planning
Effective office design can impact your productivity, reduce stress and create a positive working environment, whether it’s one person or a staff of hundreds.
Lockings offers a complete office planning service to help you organize your work area and select the correct furnishings to optimize the design. After a walk-through of your office, we’ll take measurements, generate a floor plan and provide layout drawings to help you visualize the final result. With the layout in place we’ll offer ideas for the desks, tables, chairs and other furnishings that take it from idea to reality.
Ideas to keep in mind when planning an office upgrade or new installation:
- Most office spaces work with a small palette of “theme colours” and the rest are neutral so the environment is pleasant but not distracting.
- Modular furniture offers the most flexibility and many pieces can “plug-and-play” with others to create novel arrangements and make the most of awkward spaces.
- Large furniture in small rooms looks too imposing and can rob you of valuable work space. Select pieces that suit the scale of the space you are filling.
- The more table and desktop area, the more stuff that gets stored on it. Be sure to allow enough space for proper storage and usage.
It’s hard to work without a desk so we organize our delivery & installation schedule to minimize disruption and downtime.
